Dear Friends,
I’m writing with some great news! We will once again Raise a Glass to Reading for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library together – and in person – on Tuesday, October 5 2021 from 5:30-8pm at the wonderful Caesar Creek Vineyards (962 Long Road in Xenia).
While last year was filled with challenges, it also had its triumphs. For Raise a Glass to Reading, we pivoted – coordinating with volunteers to hand deliver bottles of wine for a live-streamed online event. Not only were you willing to try something new, but you dug deep, told your friends, and you raised more money for the Imagination Library in Greene County than ever before! I am constantly humbled by your faith in our mission and commitment to the success of our young readers.
That mission is now stronger than ever! Did you know that your vision for our shared work in Greene County was centrally featured in Rolling Stone’s story on the Imagination Library this spring? It really was – here’s the link! Together, we’ve made a tremendous impact – there are now 4,951 Greene County children enrolled in the Imagination Library and 8,169 who have graduated from the program.
So, I invite you to join us again this year – save the date for Raise a Glass to Reading this year on Tuesday, October 5 2021. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, September 1 and include a catered dinner by Sweets Boutique of Xenia and a flight of Caesar Creek Vineyards’ best wines.
Of course, what inspires all of us for this event is the impact we make on our children’s lives. A $25 ticket pays for a year of Imagination Library books for a Greene County child. Or join our 125Club and for $125, you pay for the entire five years of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and place a young reader on the path to success.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your past support of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Greene County.
I look forward to seeing you there!
Karl Colón
Executive Director of Greene County Public Library
